How you can help

Speech and language impairments affect over one million children and young people across the UK. These hidden impairments can devastate the lives of those affected and Afasic works to ensure that these children and young people receive the support and help they need and to which they are entitled.

Our work is funded almost entirely by voluntary donations from individuals, companies, trusts, the Big Lottery etc.

To ensure that we are providing the best possible help, Afasic needs to develop and expand the type and range of services it provides for children and young people with speech and language impairments and their families. Please help us to do this.

At present we are particularly seeking support for the following:

  • £20 will pay for a free information pack to be sent to a parent.
  • £38 will keep our helpline service open for an hour.
  • £50 will pay for a place at a training event for a parent or a professional working with these children and young people.
  • £300 will pay for a place for a child on a summer school for those facing the move to secondary school.
  • £750 will pay for a children's art/craft workshop or multi sports session.
  • £2,500 will cover the costs of a development officer for a month.
  • £3,000 will help produce and distribute one edition of the members newsletter.
