Individual donatins and supporters

Individual donations and supporters

Afasic relies on voluntary donations to enable it to provide vital services for children and young people with speech and language impairments and their families.

Donations

Please help us to help these children and young people with a donation towards our work. This can be by way of a cheque (payable to Afasic), credit card, or CAF card. You can now make donations and other payments online on our secure site. Or simply click on the link to our donation form below, print and complete it, and send it off to us with your payment to the freepost address quoted. It would help us greatly if you could support us on a regular basis, just click on the 'standing order form' link at the bottom of the page, complete it and send it to us.

If you are a taxpayer then we can maximise your donation by claiming back the tax from the government. All you need to do is make your donation as normal, complete the "Gift Aid Declaration" below and send it off to us with the donation, we will do the rest. It won't cost you a penny and will enable us to boost your donation by an extra 28p for every Pound that you give!

Afasic wants old mobile phones

There are over 100 million old mobiles lying redundant around the UK, 99% of which could be re-used or refurbished.

Afasic could benefit from your old phone. Don't throw it away - phone us on 020 7490 9410 and we will send you some prepaid packaging to SHP Solutions. The company will make a donation to Afasic for each phone received, based on its market value.

Please make sure that you enclose a note with the phone with your name and address, stating that the proceeds should be donated to Afasic. Each phone donation will be re-cycled and can raise much needed funds for Afasic, with an average value of £2.70, and this can be much more depending on the make and model.

So don't delay - dig out that old mobile and ask us for a prepaid posting bag.

Afasic is now registered with eBay

There is a new and unique way that you can support Afasic.

ebay logoNow you can sell an item on eBay and donate from 10% (min. £5) to 100% of the final sale price to help us in our work with children and young people affected by the hidden disability of speech, language and communication impairments.

Clean out that closet, garage or loft - you can sell practically anything on eBay and donate a percentage of your net proceeds to Afasic. Even better, you can agree to "Gift Aid" being collected on the amount of the donation, and eBay will match your percentage donation by donating this percentage of their final fee on the item being sold.

How Does It Work?

eBay has partnered with MissionFish, a non-profit service provider, to create the eBay for Charity fundraising programme which makes it safe and easy for charities to benefit from trading on eBay. While listing an item on eBay you can choose to donate a percentage, or all, of your item's final selling price to Afasic! Your item will feature a charity ribbon, our name and logo and the percentage you are donating so that buyers know that they are supporting a worthy cause.

To start:
1. Visit http://pages.ebay.co.uk/community/charity/sellerinfo.html
2. Register for your eBay and MissionFish seller accounts
3. Choose an item to sell
4. Write an item title and description
5. List your item on eBay and indicate that it will benefit Afasic
6. Complete your transaction - MissionFish will collect your donation, claim Gift Aid (if possible) and pass both on to us.

Please do give this a try if you have some bits and pieces that you are looking to get rid of. Pass this on to friends, family, colleagues who you know use eBay and try to encourage them to register so that Afasic can benefit from their sales.

Thanks for your support in this way.

NEW Afasic Websearch Engine

Another way to help Afasic without it costing you a penny is to use our new search page. Just click here and search the web as you normally would. The only way it differs from other search engines is that Click Now will donate money to Afasic and the average person can generate £50 a year for us. So tell all your friends and family - the more people that use it, the more money Afasic receives.

Events

Another way you can help is to take part in or organise an event for us. Afasic has a Golden Bond for the London Marathon and each year has 5 guaranteed places. We also have places for the annual ladies 3-mile run in London, Birmingham and Liverpool as well as other similar events during the year. There is also a wide range of overseas challenges for the more adventurous, just click on the "supporting an event" link above for more information on these or any of the other events mentioned.

Alternatively you may be willing to organise a sponsored event for us, run a coffee morning, an event at a school or club, arrange a collection at a supermarket etc. If so then contact Mark and he will be able to give you some guidance, provide posters, leaflets, stickers, sponsorship forms etc.

Thank you for your interest.

Don't forget that you can now order and pay online.
