Schools, trusts and employee involvement
Afasic
relies on voluntary donations to enable it to provide vital
services for children and young people with speech and language
impairments and their families.
Afasic works to support children and their families across
the UK with its helpline, information service, development
officers, and local groups.
Speech and language impairments affect over 1 million children
and young people across the UK, perhaps among your employees,
members, school pupils etc. there are families affected by
these often hidden disabilities.
There are many ways in which you can help us to maintain and
develop our services for children and young people with speech
and language impairments and their families. Over the years
we have received support from many of the major Companies
and Trusts, numerous schools and clubs.
At present we are particularly seeking support for the continuation
and expansion of our telephone helpline, the production of
new and reprinting of existing publications, and our community
development work.
- £20 will pay for a free information pack to be sent to a parent.
- £38 will keep our helpline service open for an hour.
- £50 will pay for a place at a training event for a parent or a professional working with these children and young people.
- £300 will pay for a place for a child on a summer school for those facing
the move to secondary school.
- £750 will pay for a children's art/craft workshop or multi sports session.
- £2,500 will cover the costs of a development officer for a month.
- £3,000 will help produce and distribute one edition of
the members newsletter.
We very much hope that you will
be able to make a donation towards our work. We are happy
to acknowledge support received on any specific publications
concerned, on our website, in our newsletter and in our annual
review, or treat it as anonymous.
