Parents
Whether this is your first visit to our site or you are a returning visitor, we have help and support to offer all parents of children with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).
Watch and listen to a short video of Teresa (right) talking about her experiences on discovering her child had a speech and language impairment. You can watch other videos of parents talking about their children and offering advice to parents.
You may have concerns about your child’s speech and language development and are not sure what to do. You may be having difficulties getting the right help and are uncertain about what services should be available to you. Afasic England can help.
We have publications for parents which is a good place to start if you are worried about your child’s development. Our FAQs section can help with some of your questions. Our Parents’ Helpline offers advice and support if you’d like to talk to one of our experienced team. We also have a Parents’ Forum for parents to share information and talk about speech and language impairments.
