How your money helps
With the help and generosity of our members, friends and supporters who make a donation and fundraise for Afasic we’re improving the life chances of children and young people living with the often-hidden disability of Speech, Language and Communication Needs.
Examples of how your support can make a difference include:
- £10 a month for a year will keep our helpline open for a day
- £20 pays for a free family information pack
- £100 pays for a parent to get specialist information, advice & resources to better understand their child’s difficulties and how they can best support them
- £300 pays for an online DLD training course for parents
- £375 pays for a child to attend a specialist primary to secondary transition course
- £3,750 will fund a weeklong transition course, supporting children facing the key educational move from primary to secondary school
- £6,550 will keep our parents’ helpline open for 6 months.
How your money is spent
For every £1 we receive
- 78p goes directly to our work with children, young people and their families, living with Speech, Language and Communication Needs.
- 15p goes towards the governance, administration and running costs of the organisation
- 7p is invested to generate further income.
