Salena Jones Sings for Afasic
We were delighted when internationally acclaimed singer Salena Jones agreed to do not just one, but two nights for Afasic at the Pheasantry in Chelsea, London on Friday 8 and Saturday 9 April.
Take a look at the wonderful collection of photos from both nights.
Salena and her band put on two great shows for us and everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable time. There was something for everyone in the repertoire and the quality of music really was top class; with warm applause throughout both evenings that was thoroughly deserved.
In total the two nights raised over £2,000 (after costs) towards the work of the charity.
Many thanks go to Salena for agreeing to support us in this way and to her agent Tony Puxley for all his help and support along the way, it really means a lot and is greatly appreciated. Thanks also to the members of the band – Gabriel, Jules, Pete, and Martin – and to the Pheasantry and all their staff for hosting the event. We are very grateful to Paul Wood for the photographs from Friday night and Gareth Allen for the Saturday night photos.
We also had lots of generous donations of very special items for the raffle and auction that we held each night and we are extremely grateful to everyone who made a contribution, including:
James Bignell Photography, The Sloane Club Chelsea, London Eye, Kew Gardens, Pizza Express, Harlequins RFC, TriYoga, London Transport Museum, Leon, Paul Wood, and David Guile. Thanks also to Moyses Stevens for donating the flowers that were presented to Salena on the second night.
Here’s to the next one with Elaine Delmar on Saturday 24 September!
