Afasic England is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a grant by the Big Lottery Fund of £300,000 for work supporting young people and their parents.
Tony Curtis, the Project Director, said ” This is wonderful news, and has come at such an important time. This new Voice for Life project will include a roadshow that will visit thirty locations in England, and develop new resources and training for parents and young people over the next three years.
The project coincides with the biggest shake up of the SEN system in the last thirty years. The grant will help us to explain the changes to parents and young people, and enable them to get the most out of the new system . We want to empower parents and young people to have a voice and be heard.”
The work will start in April 2014.
