DfE survey for parents with EHC Plan - Afasic newsFrom now until October 2016, the Department for Education is inviting parents of children who were given an EHC Plan during 2015 to take part in a survey. If this applies to you, you should be receiving a letter soon, if you haven’t already.

The aim of the survey is to help the Department understand families’ experience of getting an EHC Plan and how effective the Plans have turned out to be. As all the parents they are approaching will have had a Plan for six months or more, the Department feels that this should be enough time for parents to make that judgement.

If you are contacted, please complete the survey if you can. The findings are intended to help the government and local authorities to learn from parents’ experiences and make improvements to the system in the future. The aim is solely to gather research evidence and parents will not be asked to reveal their names or other confidential details.

If you receive an invitation, this is your chance to reflect your experience to the people who can make a difference. Make sure you take it!
