Following on with our highly acclaimed parent workshops, Afasic England will be running a series of parent self advocacy training days this autumn.
The workshops are designed to enable parents to understand their rights and how best to manage relationships with professionals in order to get the best support for their children and young people.
The programme is as follows:
October 18 – Birmingham
October 19 – Sheffield
November 16 – Nottingham
November 17 – Leicester
All workshops will be free – to include refreshments and lunch – and will run from 10am – 2pm.
For further details contact Tony Curtis by email or phone 01223 244984.
Hi will there be any workshops in Scotland? Thank u
Hi Abbie,
The workshops are part an England only project, I’m afraid. We do not currently have funding to run any training in Scotland.
Regards,
Alison
Any plans for these workshops in Walesat all? Would love to attend one
Hi Susan,
Not as such, no. These workshops are part of a project funded for England only. However, our staff in Wales do organise a range of training sessions. Contact our offices there or look at the website to see what is currently available.
Regards,
Alison
Hi. Is there any chance you would be doing southern England? Either southampton or portsmouth? Thanks.
Thanks for your message Wendy. We held some parent support days in other parts of the country earlier in the year. It might be worth contacting Tony Curtis directly with your request.
Best wishes.
Jean
Will you be running any course in Manchester . Thank you
Hi,
Unfortunately, there was one in Manchester not long ago, so I don’t think there will be any more there this year. Do keep an eye on the website for details of more courses coming up though.
Regards,
Alison
