A new plan to give parents more direct support, resulted in the Afasic Helpline Team or the Summer Schools Coordinator, attending most London courses and sending Afasic information to others.
This gave more face to face introductions to Afasic services and enabled staff to provide tips to supporting children to start secondary. Our Helpline Team answered further questions about accessing Education and Health Care Plans and SEND funding.
Parents attending the workshops reported that they learnt some new information and organisational strategies, e.g: “I will buy a box to put his books in”; “Time management and organisation – evening routines”.
