On Saturday 24th September the wonderful singer Elaine Delmar performed for Afasic at the Pheasantry in Chelsea.
Elaine and her band put on a great show for the sell-out crowd and everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable time. There was something for everyone in the repertoire and the quality of music really was top class; with warm applause throughout the evening that was thoroughly deserved.
We are very grateful to Elaine for agreeing to support us in this way; as a small charity it really does mean a lot and is greatly appreciated. Thanks also to the members of the band – Barry Green, Simon Thorpe, and Bobby Worth – and to the Pheasantry and all their staff for hosting the event. We are very grateful to Greg Keeling and Akbar Khan for the photographs from the night.
There were lots of generous donations of very special items for the raffle that we held on the night and we are extremely grateful to everyone who made a contribution, including: Cote Brasserie, Jo Whiterod, Harlequins RFC, Revolution Karting, John Bercow, Gemma Thompson, Dorothy Bishop, and David Guile. Many thanks also go to Moyses Stevens for donating the wonderful flowers that were presented to Elaine.
The event raised over £1,800 towards the work of the charity, which really will help to make a difference. Here’s to the next one!
