It was a perfect day for a bike ride when this year’s Afasic charity ride visited the picturesque Essex countryside, starting and finishing in the village of Rayne and visiting many ‘Greats’ and ‘Littles’ along the way.
It was a 50 mile route, to mark our 50th Anniversary, the country roads were gently undulating, with no terrible hills, and the views were lovely, with many a thatched cottage and pretty village to look at.
Special thanks go to our cycling volunteer Jonathan for organising the route and making a great choice of pub for the lunch stop. Thanks also to Jan, Lynn and Iwan for supporting the ride, cheering everyone on, making sure we didn’t go wrong, and keeping us all fed and watered along the way.
Everyone commented on what a pretty route it was at the end and all had enjoyed a pleasant day out in the countryside. One rider had especially enjoyed the lunch stop pub, which was having a cider festival, mentioning no names – Gareth!
Many thanks to everyone for taking part and raising much needed funds for Afasic, it really is appreciated.
