We have two runners taking part in the ‘virtual’ London Marathon on the 4th October and they really need your support! Here are their stories:
Richard Knott ran the first ever London marathon in 1981 and raised money for Afasic. He is now looking to run the ‘virtual’ 40th London Marathon, albeit alone this time, to once again raise much needed funds for Afasic. Since 1981 he has only run one other marathon (Melbourne in 1989) so this will be his first marathon for over thirty years. He aims to run it in under four hours to beat his 1981 London time. Please support Richard on his fundraising page here: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/Richard-Knott
Stuart Chalmers is running the ‘virtual’ London Marathon to raise money for Afasic and also for his son Harry. Harry is 7 years old and suffers from DLD. (Developmental Language Disorder). Having DLD means that a child or young person has severe persistent difficulties understanding or using spoken language.
Please support Stuart by sponsoring him, and so help Afasic to provide support for more children like Harry and their families. You can sponsor Stuart here: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/StuartChalmers4
We wish both of them the very best of luck!
