Children and Families Bill: Protect your Child’s Rights to Speech and Language Therapy
We are very concerned that the proposed wording in the new Children and Families Bill introducing changes to the SEN system may make it much harder to access the speech and language therapy your child needs.
It is vital to act now to make sure this does not happen. Please read the update on the changes to the system to see how you can help by approaching your MP, and see below for a template letter and briefing you can send or give to him or her.

Important information for parents
Remember that until the new Bill is passed, the law on SEN and statements has not changed, and local authorities cannot claim that because a new system is coming in they are no longer required to carry out assessments or issue statements.
