This challenge is for young and old, get involved, have fun, get fit and help raise much needed funds for our work with children and families affected by Developmental Language disorder (DLD).
You can sign up to run, walk (with or without dog!) or cycle wherever and whenever you like to try and reach one of six distances between the 1st and the 28th February 2022.
This is not a race, the primary objectives are to complete the challenge that you set for yourself, raise some much needed funds for Afasic, and to engage with your friends and family by sharing your journey along the way. The event is open to everybody, no matter your age or location so get the family involved!
The target distances are as follows:
- Half marathon
- 50 Miles
- 100 Miles
You can enter the event online here any time and count any mileage achieved from the 1st February. Let people know the challenge that you have taken on and get them to sponsor your efforts!
It doesn’t matter if you exceed your initial target – just keep going! Once you have completed your challenge then submit your total distance achieved between the 1st & 28th February by email to firstname.lastname@example.org .
Everyone completing their challenge will be eligible for a special wooden medal that will be posted to you once you have submitted your result. There will also be spot prizes for the best fancy dress seen on social media during the challenge and the largest amount of sponsorship raised. On entry we will send a fundraising pack to you and will support your efforts all the way, so why wait, sign up online here now!
As an added incentive, the first £1,000 of donations raised by the challenge will be matched by Justin Butcher, one of our hosts at the Afasic Christmas Concert, in memory of his mother Mary Butcher, a supporter of Afasic for over 40 years who sadly passed away last year. So any donations that you raise for Afasic could be worth double! See his story and why he is supporting the challenge here.
