Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) is the new term to replace specific language impairment (SLI). Up to two children in every classroom have this condition.
Afasic is pleased to be hosting the first DLD conference to be held in Wales. Key speakers for the day will include Professor Dorothy Bishop, Professor Courtney Norbury, Dr Susan Ebbles, and Sheila Davies.
The conference will be hosted in English, but Welsh translations programme and overview/ booking form are available on request.

‘50 Great Little Miles for 50 Years of Afasic’ – 19 May 2018
Afasic celebrates 50 years of helping children and families affected by speech, language and communication disabilities.
To acknowledge this our annual charity ride will be a 50 mile event, around the pretty villages of Essex, passing through many villages with the words ‘Great’ or ‘Little’ in their names.

Join us for our special 50 mile charity bike ride to mark our 50th Anniversary!
The date is Saturday 1st September and will involve a circular route through the pretty countryside and villages of Essex. It will start and finish in the village of Rayne, close to Braintree, which is readily accessible by train and car.
All our rides have a friendly and supportive atmosphere and there will be support vehicles, a bike mechanic to keep everyone moving, lunch & snack stops, route maps and all day parking at the start / finish point.
